Couach: exceptional yachts

«Since 1897»: The Couach company exists since 1897. Initially specialized in constructing marine engines, the company has been designing and building boats since 1946. The reliability and irreproachable marine character of Couach boats have allowed the site to develop a worldwide reputation in the high-speed military launches sector, but also for work boats and pleasure yachts.

Company listed on the Stock Exchange: The company benefits from a strong financial base, and is today one of the only three European shipyards to be listed on the stock exchange. We thus operate in total transparency, with the obligation to publish our accounts and internal/external controls.

Research and Development: Our R&D department works on military and civil projects. As at Lurssen, all our military expertise is transposed to the pleasure yacht range. The restrictions imposed by the military sector are much stricter than those of the pleasure sector, especially in terms of: construction procedures, technologies, reliability, security, boat behavior in extreme marine conditions etc...

Full Kevlar® made: Hull, deck and fly are entirely built in Kevlar® fibre (Aramat developed by Dupont De Nemour for Couach) the whole stratified into one block. The hull is lighter, 4 times more resistant to shocks than an aluminum hull and 10 times more than a plastic sandwich hull. The boat is thus more rigid, more solid and lighter.

Reduced maintenance cost: Thanks to the design, the materials used (Kevlar®) and the quality of their construction, Couach yachts prove to have much lower maintenance costs, especially after the first 2 or 3 years of use. A saving of close to 30% on the 3 year visit compared to most of our direct competitors.

«V» shaped hulls “made in” Couach: The choice of a deep « V » shaped hull provides a sharp entry into water, with an excellent sea passage for unbeatable comfort. The excellent wave passage allows the boat to maintain its speed without striking the sea, nor jolting the passengers. The engines are thus less solicited, work less under force, are quieter, produce less smoke and as a result require less fuel.

Unique design and optimal performance:
The receded position of the engines offers a line shaft angle of + 10 degrees, which allows for lines which are direct and short, limiting vibration. Tunnel shafts to optimize propeller thrust. Fast squat between 13/14 knots. Choice of a low yacht with little weight in the high sections to limit pitch, air space is thus proportionally low. To optimize centering, Couach has also chosen to use vertical central tanks.

Reduced sound signature: underwater exhaust is quieter when stationed as well as during cruising. The design of our constructions and also the use of high performance insulating materials for bulkheads and coverings allow us to propose extremely quiet yachts. Example: 65 db measured in back cabins at 24 knots on the 3300 FLY.

Long Range Autonomy: Our clients love sailing; they want the possibility of sailing fast and far in all weather conditions. Couach offers a large action range for yachts this size, a broader navigation programme, increased comfort and security.
